Scheduled Monitoring for Water Quality and Aquascape Improvement at Sungai Kabul
A local community alerted lecturers from UPM about the worrying water condition of Kabul River. There were foam, strewn rubbish and occasionally the water turns black. Under NRCF, the lecturers, UPM students and local communities conducted water monitoring and released water hyacinth to the river. In raising awareness, the students developed and installed four awareness signboards on freeing the river from rubbish. These activities have alerted perpetrators to be cautious of their activities at Kabul River. As a result, their analysis showed that the river is in good condition and did not turn black.
