Soul of Anak Pusu

Key Output:

Developed a module and conducted field survey on the flora and fauna and river condition at Anak Pusu River.

Established a replica of Anak Pusu river on 30th January 2024 and displayed at common area in SK Sg Pusu.

Conducted technical training and fieldwork with volunteers from IIUM and SK Sungai Pusu from 7th to 8th November 2023.

Project Title:
Application of Coconut Coir Mat and Vetiver Grass for Riverbank Protection
​
Key Output:

Designed and installed riverbank protection using coconut coir mat and vetiver grass along identified Pusu River, with university students, lecturers and staff.

After the installation, animals like cricket, painted stork and swallowtail butterfly seen at the site.

400 ft² of slope area was cleared and “slopelockers“ were constructed and installed to address slope erosion and stormwater runoff issues.

Planted eight types of plants to enhance biodiversity of the area.
